Value of Therapy
We believe that the value of pastoral counseling and psychotherapy
is improved upon when used together by a trained therapist.
We believe that biblically sound mental health services and
programs occur when the practical Christian message of hope
and healing is communicated along with knowledge and skills
of the behavioral sciences.
Social
Justice
We believe that social justice includes a respect for differences
among people, and that every person deserves an equal opportunity
in life.
Shared
Responsibility
We believe individuals, society as a whole, and especially the
faith community share in the task of informing the public, eliminating
the causes of mental illness, and caring for those who require
or want care.
Self-determination
We respect differences among people and the right to make choices
based on individual beliefs, and hence, their need to be involved
in decisions that affect their lives.
Community Integration
We are committed to removing the barriers that prevent people
who suffer with their mental health, from fully participating
in the life of the community.
Partnership
Partnership is dependent upon shared values. Accordingly, we
are committed to sharing and view participation and partnership
as essential to achieving mental health for clients.
Integrity
We believe that our lifestyles and work must be consistent with
our shared values and matters of faith, and therefore a matter
for promoting public trust and confidence within the EMERGE
ministry.
Excellence
We are committed to developing and maintaining the highest possible
standards of management and operations, consistent with biblical
principles and legislated employment standards.
Accountability
We are guided by our constitution, by-laws, mission, objectives,
vision, goals, and values. As a charitable organization, we
are committed to using the funds as effectively as possible,
and to be open to the highest standards of public scrutiny.
Creativity
We encourage innovative ideas and new ways of doing things that
are responsive to the changing culture as well as ongoing organizational
changes.
